Passion for travel and dance

Dancing and travelling are my two great passions.

About us

More than 15 years travelling and dancing

Who I am

My name is Silvia and I am the founder of Dance Travelling. Dancing and travelling are my 2 great passions, which I wanted to unite to create a unique concept, thanks also to my experience in the business world.

A pharmacist by profession and with an Executive MBA, I have worked in the medical devices sector for more than 10 years, leading international strategic projects and managing teams.

Travelling

Since I was very young, I have been an inveterate traveller. I have been to more than 50 countries all over the world, many of them on my own, and I have coordinated several group trips.

Dance

I have always combined my work and travels with dancing, to which I have dedicated many hours of learning and practice, and I have even been part of a dance company.

Salsa means a lot to me and that's why Cuba has been the first destination I have launched, a country I have been to several times and where I will transmit you my passion for dancing salsa in Cuba, but soon we will have other destinations.

Yenifer Lavin González lives dance as a way of telling stories. Born in Cuba, in the province of Matanzas, and trained at the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), her path has been marked by passion and dedication.

She currently runs her own school, Tarannà Arts, in Barcelona, a space where she shares her knowledge and love of dance with her students.

In addition, together with his dance partner, Yoyo Flow, he travels the world giving workshops at international festivals, events and schools, showing the essence of Cuban dance with a unique style.

In addition to his stage career, he has worked on projects with international artists such as C. Tangana and Dua Lipa, and has collaborated with brands such as Desigual.

But for Yenifer, the most important thing is not fame or achievements, but to continue enjoying what she does and to spread that energy to those around her. For her, dancing is not just about moving; it's about connecting, moving and leaving a mark.

Damaris Hechavarría was born in Santiago de Cuba, in the south of the beautiful island of flavour.

At the age of 13, she began attending the evening dance school with the Conjunto Folklórico de Oriente, where she took her first steps, followed by prima ballerina and choreographer Milagros Ramírez.

At the age of 17 she moved to Havana and began studying Folkloric Dance and Anthropology at the Instituto Superior de Arte (1999-2003).

Thanks to the teacher Bárbara Balbuena, during and towards the end of her studies, and to the teacher and choreographer Isaías Rojas, she was a dancer with the renowned French-Haitian folklore company Ban Rarrà, where she got to know in depth this important root of Cuban culture (2001-2003).

Simultaneously, she started teaching at CENSEA (Academy of Music and Dance for foreign students), perfecting her knowledge and teaching skills for the future.

After graduating, she joined the team of specialists at the Centro de Teatro y Danza de La Habana, touring the country in search of talent.

Since 2004, she was also a dancer and model of the famous “Cabaret Parisien” of the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, demonstrating her talent in the multiple disciplines offered by the cabaret style, such as contemporary dance, ballet and Tropicana Lady style.

In December 2006 she moved permanently to Italy, but continued with her professional commitments all over the world. Bringing her talent and wisdom to the community, giving training camps and private lessons, mainly in Europe, and participating in the most important dance festivals in the world as a percussionist, performer and teacher of Cuban popular, musical and folkloric dances.

As an educator, in 2024 she formed her own dance company, Alafia Dancers, which promotes traditional Cuban dances from a modern interpretative perspective and allows new dancers to develop with proper and complete training.

Damaris' main driving force over the years has been to showcase the richness and breadth of Cuban traditions, art and culture around the world.
