Description of the trip
Colombia is one of the most vibrant countries in Latin America: music, dance, exuberant nature and a lively culture.
On this trip we will travel through some of the most fascinating places in the country while discovering its culture through the dancing, music and connecting with local people.
We will start in Bogotá, The Andean capital is full of history and contrasts. We will continue to Cali, We will take a salsa tour to see the most emblematic places of the city's salsa history. Afterwards we will travel to the Coffee-growing Axis, where we will enjoy spectacular landscapes and coffee culture.
We will continue to Medellín, one of the most innovative cities in Latin America, before we head to the Colombian Caribbean, where we will visit the area of the Tayrona Park and we will finish the trip in Cartagena de Indias, one of the most beautiful colonial cities on the continent.
During the trip we will combine:

For this trip we recommend a intermediate level of cuban salsa. No knowledge of Colombian dances is necessary.

Dance classes included
During the trip we will 14 hours of dance classes with local teachers in different cities.
Classes will last approximately 2 hours and we will combine Cuban salsa with other original Colombian and local rhythms (salsa caleña, salsa choke, champeta...).
The aim is to to reinforce our knowledge of Cuban salsa, learning local rhythms and understanding the country's culture through dance
Itinerary
The meeting point will be around 19h at the accommodation in Bogotá.
The transfer to the hotel is at your own expense. We do not include flights to give you more flexibility so that you can travel when and from wherever you want.
We'll all have dinner together to get to know each other and then why not start enjoying the Colombian night?

After breakfast at the hotel, we will have the day at leisure to explore the city.
Optionally, we can make a walking tour of La Candelaria, We will visit the historic centre of Bogota, where we will see emblematic places such as the Plaza Bolivar, the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum.
We will also have our first Dance class (2h) with local teachers.
In the evening we will go out to experience the nightlife of the city and dancing in some of the best-known venues.

Today, we will fly to Cali, known as the salsa capital of the world, a city where music and dance are part of everyday life.
We will have a DANCE CLASS (2h) with local teachers and free time to explore the city.
In the evening we will go to discover Cali's famous salsa scene.

Today we will have a salsa city tour, We will visit emblematic places of the salsa history of the city and we will understand why the city is known worldwide as the capital of salsa.
In the afternoon, we will have a DANCE CLASS (2h) with local teachers.
In the evening we will go out again to dancing on some of the best salsa dance floors in town.

After breakfast, today we will have the day at leisure to continue enjoying the city.
In the afternoon we will have a dance class (2h) with local teachers and in the evening we will go out again to enjoy the incredible salsa atmosphere of Cali.

Today we will travel by road to the Coffee-growing Axis (approx. 3h). We will arrive at a coffee farm surrounded by nature, where we will stay.
Optionally we can have a coffee experience where we will learn all about the Colombian coffee production process and taste a delicious coffee.

Today we have the option to explore the Cocora Valley, one of the most spectacular landscapes in Colombia, famous for its giant wax palms. Afterwards we can stroll through Salento and its craft shops, and end the day watching the sunset from a viewpoint.

Today we will travel by road to Medellín (approx. 6h).
Upon arrival, we will have the rest of the day free to explore the city or rest.
In the evening we will go out to discover the Medellín's vibrant nightlife.

Today we will have a DANCE CLASS (2h) with local teachers.
Optionally, we can take a guided walking tour through the Commune 13, one of the most emblematic neighbourhoods of the city's cultural transformation.
In the evening we will go out to dance and enjoy the musical atmosphere of Medellín..

Today we will take a flight to Santa Marta and have a transfer to the area of the Tayrona National Park. We will arrive at the campsite where we will stay for 2 nights, which will allow us to immerse ourselves in the nature of the park.
We will have the afternoon free to start enjoying the natural environment.
At night we can stay in the tents and watch the starry sky.

Today we have the day free to enjoy the park at our leisure. We can hike and/or enjoy the beaches.

Transfer by road to Cartagena (approx. 6h) via the Caribbean Coast, taking in breathtaking coastal scenery, picturesque villages and the thrill of exploring two of Colombia's iconic destinations.
Upon arrival we will have free time and then we will go for an evening stroll through the historic centre.

Today we will have our DANCE CLASS (2h) with local teachers.
Afterwards we will have the day at leisure to explore the city. Optionally we can take a guided tour of the historic centre and/or in the evening take a catamaran ride.
In the evening we will go out to enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere of Cartagena.

Today we can take an excursion to the Rosario Islands, a Caribbean paradise off Cartagena, where we can spend the day on a white sandy beach surrounded by turquoise waters, relax in hammocks by the sea, swim or snorkel in one of Colombia's most beautiful marine ecosystems.
On our way back to Cartagena, we will have our final DANCE CLASS (2h) with local teachers.
In the evening, we will celebrate together the last night of the trip. dancing in the Colombian Caribbean.

The time has come to say goodbye, today everyone can leave at any time they want from the morning onwards or take advantage of the last day to buy souvenirs.

During the trip there will be different optional activities that we will decide to do as a group, which will be paid for from the common fund that will be collected on the first day of the trip.

Meeting and farewell
This trip starts in Bogotá and ends in Cartagena.
On the first day we will meet in Bogota from 19h to start the journey together. The last day of the trip will end in Cartagena, from where each traveller will be able to organise their return flight in the morning.
